The Curious Medal for Literary Endeavor is a three-inch cast sterling silver medal accompanied by a check for $15,000. In addition five bronze medals will be awarded for the other five finalists, accompanied by a check for $1,000 each.
The shortlist for the medal will be announced Monday, October 13th and the announcement of the winner of the inaugural medal will take place Monday, February 9th.
A presentation dinner is scheduled for Saturday, March 7th and we anticipate that the winning author will wish to join us for this event as our guest. Travel expenses for the winning author will also be covered. The finalists will also be enthusiastically welcomed.
The funding for The Curious Medal comes from the proceeds of Rabbit Hole Books, a community non-profit bookstore and a project of the Dayton Book Fair under the umbrella of the Book Fair Foundation, a 501c3 registered Ohio charity.
